The Charities

We've chosen two great charities, both of which relate to issues close to our hearts (that's as soppy as it'll get), and the money that we raise will be split 50:50 between the two.

Importantly, the challenge is being funded entirely by us - and so all money that is donated will go directly to the charities.

Please give generously!

Alzheimers Society
Alzheimer's Society is the leading support and research charity for people with dementia, their families and carers.  They hope to "reduce the impact of dementia on lives today and create a world without dementia tomorrow".
Their mission is to:
§  change the face of dementia research
§  demonstrate best practice in dementia care and support
§  provide the best advice and support to anyone dealing with dementia
§  influence the state and society to enable those affected by dementia to live as they wish to live.

Macmillan
Macmillan Cancer Support is one of the largest British charities and provides specialist health care, information and financial support to people affected by cancer.
As well as helping with the medical needs of people affected by cancer, Macmillan also looks at the social, emotional and practical impact cancer can have, and campaigns for better cancer care. Macmillan Cancer Support's goal is to reach and improve the lives of everyone living with cancer in the UK.
